Lempster Wind Project

Capacity: 
24 Megawatts, made up of 12 turbines each having 2 megawatts each, each of the wind turbines are about 400 feet tall.
Noteworthy: 

The Lempster wind project is the first large scale commercial wind farm in new Hampshire.

Impact: 

The wind turbines are expected to provide power for 10,000 homes. The power generated from the project will be purchased by the Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH).

Future Plans: 

By 2012 Iberdrola plans to invest 26.8 billion globally to achieve installed capacity of close to 18,000 megawatts, they also plan to install 1,000 MW of wind power each year to the U.S.

Located on privately owned land near the Town of Lempster in Sullivan County, the project features 12 Gamesa wind turbines along a ridgeline in the southwest of the state. Home to one of the most wind-rich areas of New Hampshire, the project is expected to produce enough clean, renewable energy to power approximately 10,000 New Hampshire homes.
