Town of Portsmouth Wind Turbine Project

Noteworthy: 

The turbine is located at the high school and may be the first Clean Renewable Energy Bond funded wind project to be completed in New England.

Future Plans: 

Each year the wind turbine will supply 39.35% of Portsmouth Abbey Schools electricity.

History: 

<p>Before the wind turbine was installed Portsmouth Abbey School looked for many different ways to promote renewable energy.</p>

As wind has been a resource on the site of the School since colonial times, it was determined that a wind turbine could possibly provide the Abbey and School with the best option for a renewable energy source and the greatest savings in energy costs.
